Baserails

A baserail is the lower timber rail in a balustrade system. It sits on top of the stair stringer and supports either spindles or glass panels to help create a safe, secure structure.

You can choose embedded baserails for glass, grooved baserails for spindles, and standard baserails, which can be used with our glass clamps in a variety of styles. Each one is available in oak, Ready2Paint, or painted finishes.

Yes. We offer baserails in sample size (150mm), 1.8m, 2.4m, 3m, and 4.2m lengths to suit different stair configurations. You can select the size that works for your project or cut the baserail to fit if needed.

All baserails are available in solid oak, Ready2Paint (pre-primed for painting), or factory-painted in white, black, or grey. Oak baserails arrive unfinished, so you can apply your choice of stain or sealant to suit your stairs.
