Spindles

A balustrade is the complete structure that runs alongside the stairs, typically made up of handrails, baserails, spindles, and newel posts. A spindle (also called a baluster) is one of the vertical posts that sit between the handrail and baserail to provide support and safety.

These are two names for the same component. “Baluster” is the traditional term, but “spindle” is more commonly used in the UK when referring to stair parts.

Our oak spindles start from £10.52 each. Prices vary depending on the style you choose; for example, our twisted oak spindles are priced slightly higher due to the detailing.
