Our service comes with a survey carried out before we begin the manufacture of your StairFurb kit. We provide the option to have a home visit survey or a virtual survey via video call.
- Home visit surveys are arranged once a video call has been completed with our technical sales team and the order has been placed (including the installation fee).
- Virtual Surveys. Customers that are confident in their measuring ability can opt-out of having a home visit survey and just have a 20min virtual survey instead. We can apply a small discount here, as we don’t need to send a surveyor out to your home and the lead times may be a bit quicker, but you would be accepting liability for the measurements you supply. On this call we’ll talk you through the next steps and double check your measurements have been taken correctly and that the area is free from any obstacles which might prevent our installation team completing their work in the agreed time frames.
We strive to offer installation within 3-4 weeks of your order being confirmed but advise that this can on occasion (seasonal spikes, remote locations etc) be longer. Installation dates will be discussed on the call, but we usually contact you a week or so after your order to confirm the installation date. You’ll need to give us access to the property from 8am-6pm on the day of fitting.
Whilst we’re able to take on most stair refurbishments with ease there are some limitations to our installation service. We only offer the installation of StairFurb products, we can’t install anything that’s not been supplied by us (such as lighting, skirting, carpet etc). Because of the nature of newel posts being fixed below floor level, we can’t always offer the replacement of ‘straight square’ posts (this will be determined on the video call). We will however offer the installation of ‘spigot’ posts as an alternative. We are unable to offer installation of glass onto handrails that are not supplied by StairFurb.
