Rosie - Home Improvement Influencer
Rosie lives with her partner and her lovely British Bulldog. They run a highly successful home interior improvement Instagram account, home_sweet_home_46.
Their home has a very clean and contemporary style with a natural and cosy feel.
Rosie booked a video call with StairFurb to ask a few technical questions and make doubly sure that they had taken the measurements correctly. They then ordered their kit online which consisted of pine spigot newel posts, bespoke-made embedded pine banister and baserails, and glass panels.
Three weeks later they received their new glass balustrade and between them painted and fitted it in one afternoon.
Their house now looks complete and their balustrade looks fantastic.
Jack & Kelly - from Devon
Jack and his wife Kelly live with their gorgeous Cockerpoo in a small village in South Devon. Having lived in the house for over five years, they thought it was time to make some improvements.
They were wondering whether they wanted to move house, or stay put, so wanted to ensure that any improvements would increase the value of the property in case they decided to sell.
They already had some glass internal doors and oak components in other parts of their home, so naturally opted for an oak wood and glass balustrade kit. After chatting to one of the StairFurb technical sales assistants they decided to choose the clamped glass balustrade kit, rather than embedded since it’s modular in design, allowing them to remove the handrail and glass panels if they moved house, making it easier to carry wardrobes and other large items down the stairs.
Jack and Kelly DIY fitted their kit on one Sunday morning and were over the moon with the results. They love that their new glass balustrade is the first thing people see when they come into the house.
Christina - Interior Design Influencer
Christina lives in a brand new new build home with her partner and children. As is the case with many new build homes, the stair balustrade was very much a placeholder, using uninspiring creme gloss spindles.
Through 2020’s lockdown, Christina and her family decided to take on the challenge of refurbishing many aspects of their new home, to give it the style and feel that they wanted. The decided to open and Instagram account and share their progress, which soon got plenty of traction and before she knew it, she was a fully fledged Interior Design Influencer.
Christina booked a video call with StairFurb to get some assistance with the measuring and ordering process, preferring to go through things with a person, rather than just placing the order online. She ordered a kit which consisted of bespoke-made embedded pine banister and baserails, and glass panels.
Christina’s staircase, which is the first thing guests see when they enter her home, is now a stylish feature which sets the tone for the rest of their contemporary and stylish home.
Melissa & Scott - from Kent
Melissa and Scott moved into their new home just before the Covid lockdown and had been refurbishing their entire home for sixteen months already when they got in touch with StairFurb, had a video call to get a quote and ordered their new glass balustrade kit with stianless steel handrails.
They DIY installed their StairFurb kit and the fact that the kit is designed to be DIY installed was one of the key factors that drew them towards StairFurb, as it meant they could get the project completed far quicker than having to wait for availability of a local builder.
They are very happy with their staircase and the entire order & delivery process with StairFurb.
Matt & his family
Along with his wife, two dogs and newborn baby, Matt moved into his 1960’s build home in Devon in May 2022. The property didn’t need a full overhaul, but the family wanted to improve certain aspects in order to modernise the property and give it a more homely feel. The stair balustrade was a standard shaped spindle setup, while the landing was boarded with plywood, blocking all the light from flowing between the upstairs and hallway.
They opted for the painted pine clamped glass balustrade kit, with handrails and baserails painted in grey. The newel posts were replaced, but Matt opted for these to be painted white, to match the existing stringer, door frames and skirting board.
Once the balustrade was installed Matt got some colour-matched paint and painted his new internal doors to match the grey on the handrails.
The end result is an incredible transformation and has totally changed the feel of their home.
Henry - Property Developer
Henry is a property Developer from Devon. When he and his fiance moved into an old chapel that was built in the early 1800’s they knew they wanted to keep the character of the house while bringing it into the 21st century and giving it a more contemporary and homely feel.
There was already a large gallery landing fitted, but it was fitted with pine spindles and shaped newel posts that were all stained a very dark color.
Since they would be painting the skirting boards light grey, Henry and his fiance decided to paint the stringer and newel posts light grey to match the stringer and then fit embedded glass kits with oak baserail and handrail.
Having cut out all of the old spindles, baserail, and handrail, Henry spends one day fitting all the pine spigot newel posts and painting the posts and stringers. The next morning he fitted the oak baserails/handrails and glass.
As guests walk into the house, the gallery landing is the first thing that catches their eye. Needless to say, Henry and his fiance love the way the balustrade adds to the style of their home.
Hayley - TV Presenter and DIY Influencer
You may recognise Hayley, as she has presented a number of television shows based on home improvement and DIY home cleaning/improvement tips.
Hayley and her husband were looking to have installed glass balustrades into their lovely new home in order to bring light into their stairwell. The stairwell is walled, so any light that could be introduced to the stairwell would make a great difference. Their home is decorated with white walls throughout, so Hayley wanted to have the contrasting black handrail and baserail.
The video here shows a very detailed look into Hayley’s ordering, delivery and installation process, as well as a few handy tips she has for keeping your staircase and glass balustrade nice and clean! The finished product is a beautiful satin black staircase with glass panels.
