Natural oak handrails and baserails are crafted into simplistic and stylish handrails and baserails. These combine effortlessly with contemporary twisted oak spindles to make a suave, contemporary and clean look. The spindles are pre-assembled into sections which are bespoke made to suit your dimensions. Fixing holes are pre-drilled, making it easy to fit for anybody wanting to DIY install.

Installation options
StairFurb’s foundations are in supplying bespoke made, DIY install balustrades which is why all of our glass staircase kits are still designed with DIY install in mind. With some customers not having the inclination or confidence to install their own staircase, we have evolved our business and now offer four installation options:
- DIY INSTALL – All kits are pre-cut and drilled, ready to DIY install.
- STAIRFURB INSTALLATION TEAM – Our survey and installation team is available in certain regions.
- STAIRFURB RECOMMENDED FITTERS – Experienced independent fitters that we know and have confidence in.
- CUSTOMER RECOMMENDED FITTERS – Recommended by previous customers who have used their services.

Will
Along with his wife, two dogs and two young children, Will moved into his new build build home in Birmingham in 2017. As with many new build homes the staircase supplied was very much a ‘placeholder’ rather than a real feature of the home.
Wanting their home to have more of an impressive first impression, they decided to refurbish the staircase and landing by fitting a StairFurb oak spindle kit with straight spindles. The existing newel posts were shaped, so Will decided to change these to straight posts and ordered spigot newel posts from StairFurb. The finished look is a huge transformation from the original staircase and really does give a much improved first impression for visitors.
Matt
Along with his wife, two dogs and newborn baby, Matt moved into his 1960’s build home in Devon in May 2022. The property didn’t need a full overhaul, but the family wanted to improve certain aspects in order to modernise the property and give it a more homely feel. The stair balustrade was a standard shaped spindle setup, while the landing was boarded with plywood, blocking all the light from flowing between the upstairs and hallway.
They opted for the painted pine clamped glass balustrade kit, with handrails and baserails painted in grey. The newel posts were replaced, but Matt opted for these to be painted white, to match the existing stringer, door frames and skirting board.
Once the balustrade was installed Matt got some colour-matched paint and painted his new internal doors to match the grey on the handrails.
The end result is an incredible transformation and has totally changed the feel of their home.
